Hello ALT Linux team,

First of all, congratulations on the Compact 2.3 distribution. I've been using it since last week and it looks very polished.

Just one question for the moment: Are there any plans to release an OpenOffice 1.1.0 package with English localisation? I see that the the new "OpenOffice.org" package obsoletes the old OpenOffice (1.0.2) package, but if I try to upgrade I get only a Russian interface. Perhaps there is a way to change this from within the application, but since I don't read Russian (and never learned Cyrillic) I couldn't find anything.

Thanks in advance for your help- and keep up the good work!

Regards,

Mark

This question is being asked for some time; I for one am
interested in another localization, but after some hints from
packager still haven't got around to looking into it...

I want to add my support for this idea.

I need to work in Russian and English for my business. But I find it
difficult to understand the help and the menu translations and would
prefer the original English.

I tried to get the original version to work with Russian, but found that
difficult.

If AltLinux had a version that recognises Russian Word formats and had
an English interface, it would be a competitive advantage for Western
companies working in Russia that want Linux.

Richard

Well you can try to sponsor that -- as far as I know, the person
busy at packaging is just overloaded with other projects and
helping to pay off the time may be handy (and the right thing
anyways).

We hope to do time donation for Ukrainian interface...

Hello Richard!

We are currently working on that. Hopefully, the English build will be
ready within a month.
