Совершенно верно. Поэтому по-умолчанию принят спокойный деловой и
нейтральный стиль.

Но в данном случае (тут приводили оригинал "Well, this is
embarassing") перевод с ним не согласуется, он на пару порядков куда
более игривый и уже IMHO приближается к дурашливости.

IMHO такая тема весьма важна. Ибо велик риск поддаться "панибратскому"
отношению в переводах. На первый взгляд, это будет миленько,
добренько, смешливенько и так далее. А на деле - мне кажется, это
выходит за пределы допустимых интерфейсных сообщений.
