Я думал я всё понятно написал :)
Попробую так:
1. Есть хост P, на котором через самбу расшарен принтер.
1.1. Этот хост работает то под Windows, то под Linux,
рабочая группа и название расшаренного ресурса hp не меняются при этом.
2. Есть Linux-машина L, на которой в cups настроен этот принтер.
То есть набираем на ней $lpr имя_файла, а листок выезжает из принтера,
подсоединенного к хосту P.
3. Когда хост P загружен под Windows, вопросов нет,
а вот когда под Linux -- задания на печать пропадают бесследно.
Никаких ошибок в логах, всё отрабатывает вроде, вызывается
/usr/lib/cups/backend/smb и всё... В очередях пусто, в логах тоже.
При этом через smbclient -P печатает.
