Это можно сделать только после загрузки, но это не такая уж и большая
проблема... самый большой прикол в том, что если в /etc/init.b/bootsplash
установить SPLASH="no", то "service splash disable" не поможет, хотя сам
splash будет, конечно же, инициализирован!
Прям хоть делай какой-нить disable_splash и по команде start в нём
вызывать disable :)
