Скорее off topic для Sisyphus list, хотя система - последний Сизиф...
Есть четыре диска IBM по 120GB, серии AVVA07, абсолютно одинаковые. Два
подключены к встроенному контроллеру IDE (чипсет Intel i850E), два
других - к карточке Promise Ultra100 TX2 (ATA-100 IDE controller).
Первые два при загрузке заводятся на UDMA 5 (ATA-100), вторые два -
только на UDMA 2 (ATA-33). Хотя BIOS Promise'а при загрузке их находит и
пишет - UDMA 5 enabled for drive. hdparm тоже в списке поддерживаемых
режимов для них выводит udma5, абсолютно аналогично двум другим. Так
почему драйвер Promise (или драйвер ide?) не хочет ставить им udma5? В
этом есть какой-то глубокий смысл или просто так получилось и можно
установить им udma5 принудительно? У кого-нибудь этот контроллер
работает в таком режиме? Как со стабильностью?
Ядро - 2.4.20.
