Ничего подобного, это обычный глюк с подменой шрифтов.
Несколоко способов избавиться:
1) Шрифт есть, но система его не находит.
- Переместить в списке шрифтов (в XFS или XF86Config) тип Cyrilic на самое первое место.
2) Шрифта нет
- Установить.
- Или в .ini от используемой темы прописать другой, на конце обязательно -koi8-r.
