Я тоже попробовал для своего athlon-xp параметрами побаловаться.
Собралось всё(arts, kdelibs, kdebase) замечательно, только потом knotify
при запуске падал всегда.
после повторной сборки arts, без дополнительных ключей, всё заработало.
Ключики были такими:
-O2 -m32 -march=athlon-xp -msse -m3dnow -ffast-math
-fexpensive-optimizations -finline-functions -fcaller-saves
-funroll-loops -fomit-frame-pointers -frename-registers -fforce-mem
-fforce-addr -fkeep-inline-functions для CFLAGS
