Установил vsftpd
ftp localhost работает нормально
ftp 192.168.2.55 (ip этого же компа)
пишет
service not available, remote server has closed connection 
при подключении с других компов таже история
что не так?

Попробуйте заглянуть в /etc/xinetd.conf и изменить там параметр
only_from на необходимую вам сеть, либо совсем его убрать. Затем service
xinetd restart.

Зачем давать _ТАКИЕ_ советы?

Правильное решение - добавить в /etc/xinetd.d/vsftpd строку:

only_from += 192.168.2.55

Ну и man xinetd.conf на предмет описания only_from.
