Hello people;
I wanted to know what exactly is Jeos.
is it linux? based on anything or is it independent?
It didn't came with live medium mode. So if I install Jeos. do I get
terminal or Xorg?

The one at http://en.altlinux.org/starterkits#jeos is definitely
GNU/*/Linux based :-)

You get terminal and apt-get. Almost all of the rest of those
images are graphical LiveCDs with installation capability though.
