Hi. I uninstalled junior version and installed the beta master 2.2
version that i had handy. I am not trying to get the modem working at the
moment, because I don't need it right now. However, I upgraded all the
packages using a alt-get upgrade and I also upgraded to kde 3.1.1 and
XFree86. However, when I start my computer now, the keyboard doesn't work
when I get to the kde login screen. If I restart the x server it works
fine. Any idea what may be wrong?

Check your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 for double mouse entry.

I have looked at my config file, and I am sure that there is not a mouse
entry in it twice. I will post it later. Also, this config file worked
with Xfree86 4.2, but not with 4.3. Could anything else be wrong?

My keyboard options are set up right in the XFree86-4 file and there is no
double mouse entry. Does the x-server do anything different when it is
restarted? I don't understand why it would get to the kdm login manager
and the keyboard wouldn't work, but if I restarted the x-server through
the kdm options, the keyboard worked fine. Anybody know anything else I
can do?

Umm... so for now, what's the version of XFree86 it _doesn't_
work with -- Junior's native 4.2.1.1 or 4.3.0 which is in
unstable tree now?
(if 4.2.1.1, then ugh -- never met; better attach
/var/log/XFree86.0.log along with the next message)

If you have /etc/init.d/dm file,
change the line
# chkconfig: 5 45 05
to
# chkconfig: 5 90 05
and run
# chkconfig --del dm
# chkconfig --add dm

Thank you, the problem is now fixed. I have another that should be easy
to fix. When my computer is booting up, the bringing up interface eth0
takes about a minute to pass when I am not connected to the network. When
I am it passes in about a second. Is there anyway I could set the delay
on this.

You can set ONBOOT=no
in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 file.
What is "not connected"? Phisycally?
What typed in log console while this bringing idle?

Yes, this happens when I am not physically connected to a network. It I
set it to not check it at boot time, what command would I use to set it
up?
Thanks for your help.
