PreScriptum: подумав, даю копию письма и в devel@ -- поскольку
время от времени возникают недоразумения по части "почему не
спросили", в т.ч. мои. Просьба по возможности отвечать не здесь,

что толпа народу может сделать лучший выбор, чем кучка или штучка
людей, на самом деле разбирающихся в вопросе -- не работает.

Комитет обороны военного кабинета заседал почти ежедневно,
обсуждая доклады военного координационного комитета и доклады
начальников штабов. Его выводы или расхождения во мнениях
передавались на рассмотрение часто заседавшего кабинета.
Приходилось все снова и снова объяснять, а к тому времени,
как весь этот процесс завершался, ситуация зачастую изменялась.

На данный момент мне кажется, что модель разработки ядра Linux
из подобных сообществ оказалась достаточно удачной и устойчивой:
существуют люди, ответственные за окончательные решения по
подсистемам и проекту в целом; существует ясное мерило пользы
от участника сообщества ("show me the code"); существует
возможность предложить и обкатать альтернативное решение
(kernel trees).
Возможно, некоторые принципы стоит перенять (и достаточно ясно
сформулировать в публичных описаниях проекта, чтобы не возникало
недоразумений, например, "почему не как в Debian").
