Что-то я действительно ничего не понимаю. Как сейчас должен быть
настроен звук в системе (pulse, KDE)?
железка - ядерный драйвер - alsa - pulse - VLC-plugin (и аналоги) -
phonon - KDE ?
Вопрос вот почему возник: звук вроде бы есть, вроде бы работает. Но
как-то странно это все выглядит снаружи. Например, в КДЕшном микшере
каждая запущенная программа снабжается своим регулятором громкости
(заслуга пульса?). И в нем, например, флэш в браузере выглядит как ALSA
plugin. А amarok выглядит как LibVLC Audio stream. И я так понимаю, что
все КДЕшные программу будут этим самым VLC называться.
Ну если с флэшем-проприетарщиной еще понятно, то с КДЕ не очень. Неужели
в микшере не должно быть видно названия воспроизводящей программы?

Хм... проблема оказалась в VLC, с gstreamer все более естественно. Хотя
конечно странно, что *g*streamer в KDE :)
