Я такое же видел на Опере. По-моему, это зависит от шрифта, а не от
видеодрайвера. Хотя кто знает...

Помню глюки с прорисовкой шрифтов на свободном драйвере еще в FreeBSD
4.какая-то с GF2mxкакой-то.

После обновления и на новом ядре заработал драйвер nvidia. Там такой гадости нет.
