все правильно - просто с нынешним fontconfig панель не может запустится, и скрипт запуска её пытается все-таки запустить.
если fontconfig опустить до указанной выше версии - то все будет работать нормально.
аналогично - если запустить гнома, потом обновить fontconfig и запустить LICQ - то не будет шрифтов в LICQ (вместо текста пустые строки), и т.д....
