Доброго времени суток!
Вроде была в Сизифе программка devhelp
(http://www.altlinux.ru/pipermail/mandrake-russian/2002-June/009854.html)?
Или так и не добралась? Никак не могу собрать, -lgtkhtml не видит
библиотек в упор :(

Всё равно не собирается.
checking for GNOME - version >= 1.2.8... yes
checking for additional GNOME modules... *** gtkhtml library is not
installed
configure: error: *** GNOME 1.2.8 or better is required.
libgtkhtml-devel-1.1.7-alt1
libgtkhtml-1.1.7-alt1
Стал проверять:
[ujo@ujo C]$ gcc hello.c -o hello -lgtkhtml
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lgtkhtml
Вроде всё стоит как надо, /etc/ld.so.conf, естественно, включает в себя
/usr/lib, даже проверил /etc/ld.so.cache, есть там libgtkhtml. В каком
месте руки выпрямить? :(

пробуйте ключик -Lпуть
ld -lgtkhtml -L/usr/lib... должен заработать.
а там можно уже будет в исходники смотреть
