Где то вроде видел, что в gtk2 есть переменная типа GTK_BROKEN_FILENAMES для поддержки имен не в utf-8
Очень трудно совмещать на десктопе гтк1 и gtk2 приложения из за русских имен файлов, а приложений для гном2 пока все таки не хватает...

переменную нашел G_BROKEN_FILENAME, установил в 1, но результата нет. как создавал рокс имена в utf-8, так и создает. Как и все приложения gtk2.

G_BROKEN_FILENAMES=1

мне кажется, что эта переменная позволяет открывать в гноме2 non utf-8 имена файлов. По крайней мере, никаких изменений я не усмотрел.
Но так рабтает по умолчанию, а вот как бы заставить гном2 создават файлы с именами в кодировке текущей локали?
