Здравствуйте.
Сложилась следующая ситуция: компьютер с системной платой от Интел
с i815. До недавнего времени он работал на встроенном видео
под ALM2. На днях в него поставили Radeon 8500, после чего
система была проапгрейжена пакетами из кеша моей машины. Стало:
kernel24-up-2.4.19-alt0.8
XFree86-4.2.1-alt4

После обновления на машине начались описанные ранее в рассылке
глухие зависания XFree при переключении в консоль. Отключение
фреймбуфера и dri не помогло.
Вылечилось сегодня следующим образом: после очередного зависа
хозяин машины заметил, что она не реагирует на кнопку Power.
После выключения в биосе поддержки APM все проблемы с зависанием
исчезли.
На моей машине с такой же системной платой и ATI r128 никогда
ничего похожего не наблюдалось.
