Доброго времени суток!
Обнаружил что в glibc-devel-debug-2.2.6-alt0.4 вместо динамических библиотек
сплошные симлинки в никуда к примеру в /usr/lib/debug/:
rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 25 Oct 10 22:38 libpthread.so ->
../../lib/libpthread.so.0
В /usr/lib/debug/../../lib/ (/usr/lib) есть только libpthread.so, но нет
libpthread.so.0. Да и сам факт таких ссылок настораживает (но
тут я не специалист - потому могу ошибатся).
Сами библиотеки я нашел (пришлось еще раз искать письмо Дмитрия Левина
(2Днитрий: пасибо, что тогда помогли) и там смотреть название
glibc-core-debug), но ссылки в glibc-devel-debug от этого прямее не
становятся :(

Действительно, libpthread.so.0 находится в /lib (+ в /usr/lib/debug),
и поэтому эта и некоторые другие ссылки оказались битыми.
Вообще говоря, ссылки в /usr/lib/debug не должны выходить за пределы этого
каталога.
