Здравствуйте!
Не подскажете, в каком из ядер есть новый драйвер e1000 под такое
железо.

Все остальное поднялось нормально и под M2.4.
Новый драйвер (v.6.1.16) пересобрал вручную (make & make install), но
хочется сделать правильно...

А что тут неправильного? Я давно именно так и делаю. К сожалею во всех сизифных 2.4
старые дрова интела.
