А вроде бы должны видеться, если живые (и если это действительно был
RAID1 от Promise).
Как именно выглядит ругань?

Если диски не читаются на физическом уровне (а не мусор вместо данных),
возможно, что именно от БП.

Можно посмотреть, что про эти диски пишет smartctl -a, и попытаться снять
с них образы через recoverdm или dd_rescue; если битых секторов не очень
много, возможно, удастся восстановить таблицу разделов (например, с
помощью gpart), после чего можно будет попробовать поискать остатки
данных.
