Знакомый хочет водрузить Linux или FreeBSD на ноутбук LG LM50.

Нет ли у кого опыта установки туда ALT Linux? Про Gentoo пишут
в целом положительно: http://lm50.jerrett.net/ , кроме
контроллера
SmartCard / PCMCIA / FireWire [Texas Instruments PCI7420/PCI7620]
Второй вопрос:
не встречался ли кто с этим контроллером, возможно, в других
моделях, и чем закончилась встреча?
