Приветствую, Господа.

Доклaдываю первые впечатления от полета на:
MB: Gigabyte GA-K8VT800 	
(http://gigabyte.ru/new/main.php?page=prod&prod_type=mb&prod=414)
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3000+
Memory: 512 PC3200 Kingston
HDD: Samsung SP1213C 8Mb 7200rpm SATA
Video: Gigabyte GV-R92128TE ATI Radeon 9200 TV AGP
Monitor: LG Flatron 795FT
Mouse: Logitech BJ-69 USB
DVD-ROM: Toshiba 16x

Взлетал с помощью Compact-20040310 в режиме expert, (потребовалось указать, 
что в системе имеется "VIA-SATA").
Набор высоты занял минут 15, из них установка списка пакетов по умолчанию -- 6 
минут (расчетные 8).
Вроде, все работает как надо. Не проверял набортный звук. Сенсоры местами 
показывают ерунду, надо разбираться.

Приобретал компутер в одной весьма известной питерской фирме. Примечательно,  
что Win XP с целью демонстрации работоспособности там поставить не смогли, 
что под легким нажимом обернулось ощутимой скидкой, обязательством в 
письменном виде с печатью, что если что, то в любое время и за счет фирмы   и 
доставкой меня с компутером на такси до дома :)).

А Вы специально винт Samsung поставили? Ни разу не слышал лесных отзывов
о них, в основном только крик души (чаще матерный).

Сказали б уж, в какой фирме. У меня в плане на апрель взять такую 
платформу для тестов.

А что говорит lspcidrake -v ?

Кстати, совсем необязательно ставится в режиме expert'а. Достаточно при
начале установки переключиться во вторую консоль и руками загрузить все
необходимые драйвера.

Все меняется, сейчас только Samsung дает гарантию на винты 30 месяцев (прочие 
-- 1 год).

Нет, не скажу.  Можно легко вычислить :), предложений по городу очень мало.

На Western Digital серии JB тоже 30 месяцев.
Ей-ей, WD я доверяю больше.

Ты что????  Оно ж больше этого винта обычон и стоит.

Другое дело, что некоторые цифры по возврату позволяют сделать
заключение, что после серий 20/30Gb, улетавших стаями, в самсунге
кому-то надавали по голове и сейчас у них этот показатель едва ли
не *наименьший*.

Я их, правда, все равно не беру.

Не-а, не религиозный.  Просто я собственными глазами
видел как сыпались HDD Samsung один за другим.
Впрочем это было несколько лет тому назад и сейчас
наблюдений за Samsung у меня нет.  Ради справедливости надо
заметить, что и у WD была чуть раньше неудачная партия
на которубю я наступил своей ногою (т.е. кошельком)
но всё-таки не такая плохая как у S-g.
Ну а если Samsung сейчас научились делать надежные HDD -
прекрасно!

Да ну.  У меня на ASUS A7V8X такой же, и прекрасно работает.
Возможно, там что-то намудрили с выходами, и надо как следует
поковырять alsamixer.

Что-то на картинке совсем не то прицепилось.  Лучше положите вывод amixer
contents.

Хотя, если это ALC658, а не ALC650, возможно, что-то и сломано.

Однако, звук появился на 2.4.25-std-up-alt2 c 
kernel-modules-alsa-std-up-1.0.3-alt1.2
