Следуя последниму Сизифу, я не должен иметь возможность видеть man-pages без X
библиотек?

ImageMagick is needed by groff-extra-1.18.1-alt3
Я бы и рад не ставить groff-extra, groff-lj4, groff-dvi - вот только завязаны
они на столько, что не понятно, для чего их по разным пакетам распихали?

Чтобы после пересборки пакета man вы могли убрать все, кроме groff-base.
