Для воспроизведения в xine требуется кодек от win32. Скачал .dll
Куда ее положить?

По идее в /usr/lib/win32
Можно в /usr/local/lib/codecs
Посмотрите в настройках xine, там путь по дефолту назначен, туда и
копируйте.. если такого каталога нет - создайте

Туда, как настроено:
$ fgrep decoder.external.win32_codecs_path ~/.xine/config

Недавно пришлось качать обновление для
WindowsMediaPlayer, что бы xine показывать нормально wmf файлы ;-)
Кстати, по cabextract очень успешно
развернулось, пришлось только файлы в регистре опустить. Все работает.
