А apt в их числе не было? Если было, то тебе не повезло.
В последней версии apt из Сизифа была исправлена не большая ошибка,
имеющая отношение к обновлению ядер. А именно: при обновлении новое ядро
не долдно убирать старое. И тогда вся конфигурация и модули от работающего
ядра должны оставаться -- никаких никаких серьезных проблем в случае
неработоспособности нового ядра возникать не должно.
Это было так для всех серий ядер, кроме kernel24-up. :-(
