Всегда казалось что возможнойстей у ProF больше будет, но на мастере
всячески рекомендуют vsftp. В чем причина и что все же лучше ставить?

В подходе к обеспечению безопасности и производительности.
Количество возможностей - не показатель, Вам же не все нужны? К
тому же у vsftpd всё-таки много возможностей.
