Здравствуйте!
firefox не сохраняет автоматом загрузки в папку, указанную в настройках,
а сохраняет всегда во временную папку, с последующим удалением после
перезагрузки.
Бренч P6. FF 17.0.2

Извиняюсь, дошло!
Во временную папку сохраняются файлы, для которых настроен
автоматический просмотр в другом приложении.
Т.е. логика понятна.
Извиняюсь, что отнял время.
