Судя по логам, соединение успешно установлено. А далее не работает,
потому что (ИМХО) не прописан маршрут до PPTP-сервера. Прописывайте
маршрут с помощью IP-адреса, а не доменного имени.

Может достаточно будет установить pptpconfig?
Его раздают на http://pptpclient.sourceforge.net/yum/stable/
