IBM ThinkPad R40 (Banias 1.3GHz на Centrino)
Пытаюсь посмотреть PostScript файлы с помощью KGhostView. Наблюдаю
следующее поведение программы:
- процесс gs сильно грузит систему целиком, даже мышка при перемещении
дёргается, работать не возможно. load average доходит до 17.8, HDD
очень загружен, съедает всю оперативку (1 GB) и весь swap (1 GB),
мегабайтный PS файл открывает минут 15.
- при этом частота процессора остаётся 600 MHz, а должна подниматься до 1.3 GHz
любое другое приложение при интенсивной работе частоту поднимает.
Что за "ghost in the machine"? Помогите, пожалуйста, разобраться.

Он ещё с ALT 2.4 таким страдает. Это происходит на особых pdf и ps
файлах, содержащих много изображений. В случае с pdf, вместо него
использую KPDF, который, в свою очередь, не все печатает. :)
