Hello!
Что нужно выбирать при инсталляции сабжа чтобы был виден русский, но
всё остальное на английском?
Также вопрос как в Гноме вывести переключатель раскладок на экран?

Ну, можно попробовать в процессе установки выбрать английский язык
основным и русский как дополнительный. Клавиатуру тоже установить
русскую. А можно уже после установки в режиме русского языка
подправить файл /etc/sysconfig/i18n в нужную сторону.

Добавить на нужную панель переключатель клавиатуры.
