Как собрать ядро в ALT Master 2.2. Проставил пакет kernel24-linus-smp. В
каталоге /home/user/rpm повилась куча конфигов и тарбалов. Вопрос: Что
надо делать, со всем этим барахлом?

А может и не стоит ничего делать? Коли вы этого не знаете, а
прочитать хоть что-нибудь не хотите? Не обижайтесь, но к сборке
ядра _настолько_ легковесно подходить, IMHO, нельзя.

Собрать командой RPM.
См. "Руководство разработчика" из коробки.
Если нет - из документов на 1-ом диске.

1) Сборка проходит в каталоге пользователя
2) Под root сборка не проходит
3) Пользователь должен быть в группе RPM
4) Пакет rpm-build должен стоять.
