Очень просто. Рабочая станция рядового пользователя без наличия
офисной программы невозможна. Если есть свободный офис под Линух,
то это означает что есть ненулевая вероятность что на данном
десктопе будет именно Линух. Что очевидно для всех разработчиков
свободного софта выгодно.
А что касается "встал и работает" - таки да, OpenOffice именно
так и ставится. Инстальнулся и работаешь :-)
