Настройки принтера хранятся в
/etc/cups/printers.conf
/etc/cups/ppd/*.ppd
сделайте копию этих файлов,
чтобы можно было к ним вернуться,
и попробуйте переустановить принтер.
Возможно, /etc/cups/ppd/*.ppd файл слишком древний
и в нем отсутствуют какие-то новые опции.
Т.е попробуйте сгенерировать заново.
