Всилу крайней неповоротливости guile планируется ли его выкинуть и заменить на
что-либо более быстрое? Насколько это трудоемкая задача?

Прям-таки неповоротливости... а что предлагаете?
PS: лучше общаться с основным разработчиком alterator,
даю копию (если у него сейчас вдруг найдётся время).
