Господа, расскажите какие есть ограничения (если есть) на имя хоста
(test.example.com)?
цифры можно? что со всяческими спец. символами?

RFC1034: DOMAIN NAMES - CONCEPTS AND FACILITIES
3.5. Preferred name syntax
Есть в виде файла /usr/share/doc/bind-*/rfc/rfc1034.txt.bz2 в пакете bind-doc.
IDNs (RFC3490) лучше без надобности не использовать.

Кроме первой.

"-" (раньше bind толерантно относился к "_", которое нарушает
стандарт, но к девятой версии это исправили)
