Спасибо всем, кто ответил на мое письмо!
Хочу уточнить вот что.
Кроме упомянутой ранее FreeSCO, ОС-ь от ALTLinux,
которая больше всего подойдет для этой
задачи - это ALM 2.4 (естественно правильно
настроенный), правильно?

Правильно. У нас как-то на P75/48 жил гейтик.

Стоит "на память" 486DX 66MHz 4M, вставил в него две сетевухи, на floppy -
роутер, грузится - работает. :) Правда, уж года 2 не включал. :)
Так что - все возможно.

Я про альт. :) На 486DX/16M (меньше не нашлось тогда)
тоже где-то в 2001--2002 делал fli4l.de. Изумительно
работало, полному ящику с NT4 было далеко по фичам.
