использую apcupsd-3.12.3-alt1 (сам пересобирал)
Есть 2 UPS:
Powerware 5115
Mustek 400
На обоих есть порт RS-232 и к обоим прилагается кабель (без маркировки.
под offtopic - можно с помощью него управлять UPS)
в apcupsd.conf выставляю
UPSCABLE simple
UPSTYPE backups или smartups
Перегружаю демон apcupsd - все ОК. Когда заставляю работать UPS от батарей
apcupsd ни как не реагирует.
Какие парметры всетаки правильней выставить?
Хочется завести именно apcupsd (не nut). Если все таки будете рекомендовать
nut - приведите пожалуйста минимальный рабочий conf файл

Для 5115 может быть другой upstype. Методика вычисления - см. man
