Всем привет!
Почему-то "Master 2.4" отказывается сам отключать питание
компьютера, предлагая сделать это вручную. В /var/log/messages
при загрузке остаются сообщения:
kernel: ACPI disabled because your bios is from 99 and too old
kernel: You can enable it with acpi=force
....
kernel: ACPI: Subsystem revision 20040326
kernel: ACPI: Interpreter disabled.
В "Центре настройки" KDE в категории "PowerControl" присутствует
только вкладка "Display Power Control". Чем это всё может быть
вызвано и как это можно исправить? Нужно действительно обновлять
BIOS или достаточно что-то доустановить или перенастроить в
Пингвинятне? В "Windows" такой проблемы не возникает, в "Master
2.2" тоже не было.

Какой загрузчик используется? если LILO то попробуй указать в файле
/etc/lilo.conf в строке после initrd=

Вы можете включить в lilo
append="acpi=force"
Для grub не знаю.

Для grub еще проще, lilo вроде после редактирования нужно обновлять.
А тут любым текстовым редактором открываешь /boot/grub/menu.lst и
добавляешь опуцию acpi=force к параметру kernel= ......
Но интересно другое, чем опасен старый BIOS так что по умолчанию выключили?
