мастере заработал ?

У меня работает.
Прилично попортило крови присутствие в конфиге pppd параметров от
его болие старых версий (chapms, chapms-v2, mppe-128, mppe-stateless
и т. д., google их часто находит) - гарантировано недаёт стартовать
данному зверю.

Мне помогло следующие:
$ cat /etc/ppp/options.pptpd
...
# These options apply if you use ppp with mppe patch
# NB! You should also apply the ChapMS-V2 patch
...
-pap
-chap
-mschap
+mschap-v2
+mppe

...

Коннект поднялся, только трафик через него идет как-то уж очень неохотно.
Пинги по большей части проходят, а к SQL коннект не идет совсем.
