Ага. Только коды бывают неправильными. Например, попробуйте
поставить французский язык и ввести в блокноте accute accent или
как он правильно называется (d'un). Он будет введён и показан, но
на самом деле это будет какой-то control с номером
U+0092
хотя должен быть
U+00B4
Может, это мне так повезло, но времени на выяснение этой лепоты
ушло...
