Отдельная опция, по умолчанию выключено.
В новых ядрах конфиг лежит в /boot/config-%version-%flavor

Не отвечу за ALT, но в Slackware опции текущего ядра (если сами
не пересобирали, а "родное") инсталлятор кладет в файл
/boot/config. Если я вообще о том отвечаю.
