А вот это уже интересно... В tetex в ALT Linux отсутствуют
"русские" части fontinst. Или мне показалось??? На texlive 7 всё
это есть.

В ту пору, когда я собирался переходить на ALT, меня долго
убеждали, что стоит использовать их TeX вместо TeX Live по 1001
причине.
Теперь же я вижу лишь _одно_ преимущество TeX в ALT --- в нём
работоспособная "из коробки" omega, на которую легко ставится
antomega Алексея Крюкова с поддержкой латышского языка.
