Привет,
Вопрос теоретического плана.
Есть ли разница в качестве звука при проигрывании через разные
драйвера (oss, alsa, esd, arts) или в возможностях? Или все
уперается только в звуковую карту?
Конкретнее - если у меня звук идет только с прописаными и
установленными alsa, но при этом все программы (mplayer, ogg123,
mpg123 xmms, и т.д.) пишут что используют OSS - это вообще как-то
должно волновать или нет (вроде alsa эмулирует OSS в данном
случае)?

oss, alsa это драйвера к примеру, но esd, arts -это серверы звука и для
других целей служат. На простых зв.картах без последних не обойтись. Мне
(субъективно) больше понравилось качество alsa (опробовано via686 и
Ямаха 724). Проигрывал ч-з esd.

esd и arts это не драйвера.
