Но это действительно так. Бинарно (как-то кто-то из разработчиков
говорил) он ближе всего к RH, а по идеологии к Debian.

Это всего лишь инсталлятор...
Насколько я понимаю, из рудиментов остались Дрейки и инсталлятор, и то и
другое из-за нехватки времени/нежелания писать свои утилиты.
