Отключить автоопределение очень просто - убрать из стартовых сервисов
kudzu и убрать все наконфигуренное ранее из /etc/modules.conf. Дальше
можно настраивать руками.
К сожалению, я не сталкивался с GUS под Linux'ом и не могу помочь Вам в ее
настройке. По идее лучше всего конфигурить-таки карточку BIOS'ом а потом
прописывать наконфигуренные им параметры в параметры к модулю.
