Понять в чём дело очень просто - посмотреть на таблицу разделов,
выведенную в нормальной программе типа parted bkb fdisk в Linux.

Не наблюдал. Если и вы не хотите наблюдать, просто не запускайте
Partition Magic'и, а пользуйтесь parted или графической
программой разбиения дисков, запускающаяся при установке
Мастера.
