Настройка/Управление пакетами/Менеджер программ. Поиск по
устанавливаемым пакетам, ключевое слово "font". Установить все, что
выдало по поиску. Рестарт демона xfs, или можно перегрузится (ой, только
не бейте за этот совет, я когда не знал комнды service, всегда перегружался).
Если не помогло, и лень дальше копаться, то можно попробовать убить
некоторые настройки в своем домашнем каталоге.

Лучше почитать http://www.atmsk.ru/
Можно запустить drakfont.
