Вобщем то понятно. По видимому вы в Linux недавно. В сеансе
KDEзапустите терминал и выполните там команду locale.
В ее выводе будут такие буквы
KOI8-ru, CP1251 или POSIX

Тогда в Центре настроек KDE, подбирите шрифт совпадающий с вашей
locale. Если же у вас POSIX то опять же повторюсь, не запускайтете
X от пользователя root.
Если же вас просто не устраивает качество отображаемых шрифтов, то
установите шрифты от Micro$oft - как это сделать вам уже не один
раз подсказали да и на диске Junior2 есть подробное пошаговое
описание.
