Вчера обновил BIOS материнской платы, в результате
в X-сах пришлось восстанавливать все параметры: фоны,
кол-во рабочих столов, цветовую схему и т.п.
Кто-нибудь может объяснить, отчего такое произошло,
просто любопытно, почему в виндах все ок, а в линуксе
не очень ок???

Очень просто: Обновление BIOS и "отпадение" настроек "в X-сах"
(очевидно, в KDE) НИКАК НЕ СВЯЗАНЫ. Эти проблемы связаны с
какими-то другими вашими действиями.
