Приветствую.
Наткнулся на проблему. Если указать пользователю какой-нибудь
/bin/false, при попытке зайти по ftp получается вот так:
proftpd: pam_tcb(proftpd:auth): Authentication passed for qwerty from (uid=0)
proftpd[14604]: hostname (1.2.3.4[1.2.3.4]) - USER qwerty (Login failed): Incorrect password.
RequireValidShell off, при этом, стоит в глобальной части конфига.
С каких-то пор стало надо что-то ещё где-то подкручивать ?

А если добавить /bin/false в /etc/shells ?

Вообще, интересная идея в качестве work arround. Спасибо, помогло,
можно было догадаться и самому. Только вот, как написано про
RequireValidShell:
The RequireValidShell directive configures the server, virtual host
or anonymous login to allow or deny logins which do not have a shell
binary listed in /etc/shells.
